Discover how Associate Professor of Dance at °µÍø½ûÇø, Jeffrey Marc Rockland is working to create an atmosphere of acceptance through ballet.
That commitment takes center stage on August 13 from 7–8:30 p.m. at the Maltz Museum with a special event: Fighting Antisemitism with Ballet: Oy, Mi Genté!
The evening will highlight the history, inspiration and culture behind the original ballet Oy, Mi Genté!. This unique ballet was the result of a collaboration between MASH Jerusalem Dance House and a technology partnership between the Dance Department in the School of Theatre and Dance, the School of Emerging Media and Technology and the Design Innovation Hub at °µÍø½ûÇø. Read more about the collaboration here.
Audience members will watch a recording of the ballet and hear directly from Rockland and students who participated in the production and related projects involving Israeli contemporary dance.
Rockland hopes the event will inspire conversations rooted in empathy, curiosity, and shared humanity—reminding us that storytelling through movement can connect people across borders and beliefs.
