Kendra Snatchko is about to graduate from �������� and her eyes are focused on a bright future. Her vision of the future, however, started forming when she was only 12 years old. That’s when she set her sights on someday working in the fashion world. Snatchko will graduate in May with a degree in fashion merchandising and a minor in fashion media from ��������. Surrounded by movie posters, scale models and old filming equipment, Dustin Lee, ’07, and Jon Jivan, ’08, sit in their Kent Campus offices creating video content to promote ��������. This past month, Mr. Lee and Mr. Jivan, who are graduates of ��������’s digital media production program, filmed and edited the university’s 2018 Super Bowl commercial. Chautauqua Institution is pleased to announce �������� President Beverly J. Warren will be among the featured lecturers during the institution’s weeklong investigation of “The Forgotten: History and Memory in the 21st Century,” Aug. 11-18, 2018. President Warren’s talk will focus on the lessons, learnings and remembrances of May 4, 1970. It’s difficult to find information about the late William (Dan) Southall on the Internet, and that’s a shame. He was a brilliant student, artist and educator who stockpiled his own art in a humble way, leaving behind a collection that included ceramic sculptures, paintings, sketches and drawings.  On loan from his family, several of Southall’s ceramic pieces are now displayed in the lobby of the Mary Patterson Building and on the second floor in Purinton Hall in observance of Black History Month. In September 2015, ��������’s College of Public Health was awarded a $357,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through its Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to fund Project AWARE Kent. One of the main purposes of Project AWARE Kent was to train 720 students, faculty, and staff in Mental Health First Aid (a class that trains you to assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis).
