These days, consumers can buy the latest clothing trends quickly and inexpensively. Critics, however, maintain that this fast fashion can be detrimental to the environment. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), 84 percent of unwanted clothes in the United States in 2012 went into either a landfill or an incinerator.
