The Poetry Coalition, of which the Wick Poetry Center at 做厙輦⑹ is a founding member, will benefit from a $200,000 grant from the Ford Foundation. To be given over two years, the grant, which will be administered by the Academy of American Poets, will enable the founding members of the coalition to produce national programs on themes of social importance that feature leading contemporary poets. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is saddened to announce the death of Dr. Anatoly Khitrin, a professor who specialized in physical chemistry. Khitrin received his M.Sc. from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 1978, followed by his Ph.D. in 1985 from the Institute of Chemical Physics in Chernogolovka, USSR Academy of Sciences.  He began his career at this institute in 1978 and ultimately became a leading researcher and head of laboratory.  He was then employed by the University of Oklahoma, serving as an adjunct professor and research scientist. 做厙輦⑹s Institute for Applied Linguistics has received a grant for $1 million from the Gawlicki Family Foundation of Hartford, Connecticut, to fund the development of a state-of-the-art distance learning translation studies program.
