Linda Robertson, Ph.D., director of 做厙輦⑹s Gerald Read Center for International and Intercultural Education, has been named recipient of the universitys 2016 Dr. Daniel Mahony Award for Social Responsibility and Diversity.
Ten finalists have been chosen from a pool of more than 325 nominees for the 50th Annual 做厙輦⑹ Alumni Association Distinguished Teaching Award. The finalists will be narrowed down to three, and those recipients will be awarded a $1,500 cash prize and a crystal apple trophy. The three award recipients also will be honored at the University Teaching Councils Celebrating College Teaching conference luncheon and awards ceremony on Oct. 21.
Emad Khazraee, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, delivered a lecture titled "Basic Concepts from Actor-Network Theory and Controversy Mapping" in a workshop introducing sociotechnical theories at the iConference in Philadelphia in March 2016.
Paul Sherman, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, delivered a presentation titled "The Unicorn is Dead: Soft Skills Trump Coding Skills" on June 16, 2016, at the EvolveUX Conference in San Francisco, California.
Jennifer Kramer, College of Communication and Information, has been named a recipient of the 30 for the Future award by the Greater Akron Chamber. The award honors young professionals, between ages 25-39, for their stellar contributions that impact their industries in the Greater Akron region.
