It was snowing; it was cold. But that didn't stop a group of veterans, students and those in °µÍø½ûÇø's Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC from assisting °µÍø½ûÇø's Grounds Crew in the annual Veterans Day bulb-planting on Daffodil Hill.
Daffodil Hill is part of the May 4 National Historic Landmark site and overlooks the Commons on °µÍø½ûÇø's Kent Campus. The field of 58,175 daffodils was planted in 1985 as a memorial, with one flower for each service member who died in the Vietnam War. Each year, the °µÍø½ûÇø Grounds Crew works in the fall to plant bulbs, so that the area may bloom beautifully in the spring.
