, director of marketing communications and public relations for the °µÍø½ûÇø , shared the story of a day when one of the university librarians received a random act of kindness from a fellow Golden Flash.
Williams said, "After a particularly challenging day, he was in the Hub and apparently wearing the day’s struggles on his face. A student walked up to him and expressed that he looked like a professor who could use a pick-me-up. She handed him the note that he later featured on his social media page."
The librarian is Michael Hawkins, a °µÍø½ûÇø alumnus who is the head librarian in the university's Map Library in McGilvrey Hall.
Williams said, "He said that her gesture was very effective and remarked that as much as we are concerned about our students, they are also concerned about faculty and staff."
°µÍø½ûÇø President Todd Diacon said that "Flashes Take Care of Flashes" isn't a cliché or empty slogan, but a reflection of commitment that is "driving our actions every day."
