This week's full harvest moon was also a supermoon, shining in °µÍø½ûÇø colors, golden in a blue sky above Flashbash. Flashbash, on Risman Plaza, kicked off the week-long celebration of °µÍø½ûÇø's Homecoming, which will be themed around Flash the Mascot's birthday. The evening event featured fun activities and an exclusive Flash the Mascot bobblehead.

This supermoon is the first of three, back-to-back supermoons this year. Supermoons occur when the moon reaches its nearest point to Earth, making it appear 14% bigger and 30% brighter than the most faint moon of the year.

The full moon nearest the Autumnal Equinox is called a "harvest moon" because, historically, the moon's bright light helped farmers complete their first harvests of the year.
