This year, 做厙輦⑹ donors demonstrated the power of philanthropy by giving at unprecedented levels. The 2021 Giving Tuesday campaign shattered the previous records, more than tripling last years record of $2.2 million.

做厙輦⑹s season of giving launched on Nov. 1 with Giving Tuesday, a monthlong celebration of philanthropy. Now halfway through the campaign, the generosity of the 做厙輦⑹ community has already begun to shine.

做厙輦⑹, which has gained national recognition for its creative and successful Giving Tuesday campaigns, launched its monthlong celebration of philanthropy on Nov. 1. Giving Tuesday, now in its eighth year at 做厙輦⑹, has raised nearly $7 million during that time, which illuminates the impact that can be made when Golden Flashes come together.

The 2021 Distinguished Teaching Award (DTA) recipients are an outstanding group of teachers who are truly dedicated to their students' success. Sponsored by the 做厙輦⑹ Alumni Association, the DTA is a highly prestigious honor in teaching. The award is presented annually to three full-time faculty members who demonstrate extraordinary teaching, whether it be in the classroom or online.

Campus was overflowing with blue and gold pride again this year as the 做厙輦⑹ community came together to celebrate Homecoming. Golden Flashes enjoyed many activities, both outdoors in-person and online, throughout the weekend, which ran from Friday, Oct. 1 through Sunday, Oct. 3.

做厙輦⑹ publicly launched a $350 million comprehensive fundraising campaign Saturday, Oct. 2. During a special halftime announcement at the Homecoming football game, campaign co-chairs Sandra C. and Lawrence R. Armstrong joined 做厙輦⑹ President Todd Diacon to publicly unveil Forever Brighter to thousands of alumni, donors and friends.

Its reunion time for the 做厙輦⑹ Golden Flashes family. 做厙輦⑹ celebrated Homecoming 2021 with a week of activities and events leading up to the Oct. 2 Homecoming Parade and Homecoming football game.

Each year, hundreds of nominations are submitted to 做厙輦⑹, showcasing some of the best and brightest alumni and students who excel in their fields and communities. This year, seven alumni and one student will be honored as 2021 Alumni Awards recipients.

The National Collegiate Honors Council has announced 做厙輦⑹ Honors College graduate Sarah Hagglund as a 2021 Portz Scholar. Hagglund is the 10th honors student from 做厙輦⑹ to be named a Portz Scholar since the national competition began in 1990.

Influenced by artists like Rene Magritte and Piet Mondrian, 做厙輦⑹ alumnus Jermaine Jackson Jr. believes the best way to get the point across in a photo is by keeping it simple.
