Eric Benjamin, of Alliance, has been hired to direct the new University Choir at �������� at Tuscarawas beginning Fall Semester 2016. He is an adjunct faculty member at the campus currently teaching The Understanding of Music. He also is the music director for the Tuscarawas Philharmonic, a position he has held for the past 25 years.

��������’s Dining Services strives to make �������� a home away from home for all students. This fall, students were encouraged to submit recipes of their favorite meals to be entered into the Taste of Home Competition. The finalists’ dishes will be tasted by a select panel of students, faculty and executive chefs on Sept. 12 at 3 p.m. at Eastway Center Banquet Room.

��������’s Department of Residence Services has established a new living-learning community for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and asexual (LGBTQA) students and their allies in the newly renovated Korb Hall this fall.

�������� kicks off its 94th season of football this fall. The Golden Flashes will face North Carolina A&T State University for their home opener on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. at Dix Stadium.

Lae'l Hughes-Watkins, University Libraries’ Department of Special Collections and Archives, presented “Activism in the Archives: How the Acquisition of a Collection Is Influencing Relationships With Diverse Populations and Stimulating Collaborative Relationships for Instructional Design” at the National Diversity Library Conference in Los Angeles, California, on Aug. 11, 2016.

Trevor Watkins and Feng-Ru Sheu, University Libraries, presented “Open Knowledge Diffusion Tools: FOSS, OER, OT, MOOC and the Role of the Library in Mitigating the Social Inertia of Constrained Learning Environments” at the IFLA World Library and Information Congress: 82nd IFLA General Conference and Assembly in Columbus, Ohio, on Aug. 16, 2016.

��������'s Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Todd Diacon has announced that Melody Tankersley, Ph.D., has been appointed dean of Graduate Studies, effective Aug. 1, 2016. Tankersley has served as interim dean of Graduate Studies since July 1, 2015. She will continue in her role as senior associate provost.
