The state of Ohio and the Ohio Department of Higher Education announced that °µÍø½ûÇø has been awarded Choose Ohio First grants totaling $3.5 million to support students in the critical fields of science (including health professions), technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

New Funding Leads to New Full-Body Virtual Reality Lab

Two °µÍø½ûÇø sociology researchers are moving toward gaining insight into how people’s brains react in a variety of threatening situations using innovative virtual reality (VR) technology funded by the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Army. Josh Pollock and William Kalkhoff, both in the Department of Sociology & Criminology, are leading the research projects, which will benefit the Army, °µÍø½ûÇø students and others.

Materials Science Research Receives Grant for New X-ray Scattering Instrument

°µÍø½ûÇøâ€™s Advanced Materials and Liquid Crystal Institute soon will be home to a new X-ray scattering instrument capable of examining materials in scales from as small as a fraction of a nanometer to as large as several micrometers.
