Twenty years ago, 26 做厙輦⑹ fashion students packed up and headed to New York City for a semester unlike anything available on a traditional college campus. They attended classes in the heart of Manhattan's Garment District, visited the offices of top designers and connected with industry professionals who would shape their careers. This week, 做厙輦⑹'s School of Fashion celebrated what that bold experiment became.

Gage Wellman, a junior in 做厙輦⑹s journalism program, competed among the nations best college journalists in the 66th Hearst National Journalism Championships held May 31-June 5 in San Francisco. Wellman, who hails from Parma, Ohio, earned a $1,500 finalist award in the Writing category at the national competition.

May 4 Shooting Victim Inspires Students With Disabilities to Embrace Their Own
Dean Kahler is often quoted as saying he only had one bad day at 做厙輦⑹.
That day was May 4, 1970, when an Ohio National Guardsmans bullet struck Kahler as he stood under a tree watching, from what he thought was a safe distance, a student protest against the escalation of the War in Vietnam. When the National Guard fired on the students, a bullet pierced Kahlers spine, leaving him paralyzed and wheelchair bound for the rest of his life.
