As part of ��������’s Student Employee Appreciation Week, Career Exploration and Development proudly announces recipients of the 2025 Student Employee and Supervisor Awards. These annual honors recognize outstanding individuals who exemplify excellence in their roles across campus, demonstrating initiative, leadership, inclusivity and an enduring commitment to community.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Division of Student Life at �������� has been recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs by the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) - College Student Educators International and Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.

U.S. News & World Report has recognized 19 �������� programs as among the best in the nation in its newly released 2025 Best Graduate Schools rankings. Among those, 10 programs rank in the top 100.

Summer camps for kids interested in architecture don’t come along often – at least that’s what Elise Bolton’s mother discovered when she searched for one. But then, not a whole lot of 11-year-olds may dream of becoming architects. But that was the case for Bolton, a sophomore in ��������’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design, who knew from when she was a young child that she wanted to be an architect.

The Flashes Activities Board brought some cowboy fun to �������� with the FAB Wild West Rodeo. Presented inside the Kent Student Center Ballroom, the activities mechanical bull-riding, line dancing, a Skee-Ball shooting gallery and a free �������� cowboy hat giveaway! 

Through the Veterans Affairs Work-Study program, the Credit Transfer Office – which plays a key role in supporting students through their academic journey from processing transfer credits from another institution to awarding Advanced Placement credits – hired a student worker to enhance the office’s operations. She's already making a difference.

For �������� Honors Leadership Academy, spring break took a more impactful approach by traveling to Buffalo, New York, to work with the local community, specifically children.  

Kendric Hood, who earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees in computer science at ��������, is now a third-year doctoral student and adjunct instructor researching the practical applications of neuromorphic AI models and transformer-based large language models (LLMs).  

�������� continues to excel in hands-on learning, as shown by the ESPN+ livestream broadcast of the �������� Men’s Basketball team’s victory over the Eastern Michigan Eagles. Produced entirely by digital media production undergraduates in the School of Media and Journalism, what could have been a chaotic, high-profile evening was business as usual. 

Meet Jordan Gallegos, a senior and member of the Honors College from Hudson, Ohio, who is navigating three majors and three minors.

A remarkable achievement highlights the exceptional quality of ��������’s medical education programs as the College of Podiatric Medicine announced that 100% of eligible students in the Class of 2025 have successfully matched with residency programs across the nation.

Researchers from �������� and other institutions have published a study in the Royal Society of Chemistry's journal, “Environmental Science: Processes & Impacts,” detailing the environmental consequences of the chemical spill and burn following a Norfolk Southern train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, over two years ago.

The use of stone hammers to produce sharp stone flakes—knapping—is traditionally thought to be a process that ancient humans started doing intentionally or by accident before looking for things, such as animal carcasses and hard fruits, to cut. However, six �������� researchers and their team suggest there may be more to the story.
