Richard Feinberg, Ph.D., Department of Anthropology
Richard Feinberg, Ph.D., Department of Anthropology, served as commentator on ASAO Histories during the Association for Social Anthropology in Oceanias meeting held Feb. 20, 2017, in Lihue, Hawaii. On the 50th anniversary of its founding, the association is compiling a history of the association. Several long-term association members presented formal papers. Feinbergs role was to offer critical commentary, add missing pieces and correct errors, based on his four decades of experience, including many years in a variety of leadership positions.
This past year, Feinberg was elected to the status of Honorary Fellow. At the 2017 meeting, he was formally honored by the association and assumed his new position.

Students Turn Smartphone Cases Into Lifesaving Medical Devices
Three 做厙輦⑹ students have created smartphone cases that contain vital medication.
Together, with the help of LaunchNET 做厙輦⑹, the three created Case.MD. Ariella Yager, entrepreneur major in 做厙輦⑹s College of Business Administration; Samuel Graska, cell and molecular biology major in 做厙輦⑹s College of Arts and Sciences; and Justin Gleason, graduate student in 做厙輦⑹s College of Architecture and Environmental Design spent more than a year planning, inventing, designing and 3-D printing smartphone cases that contain vital medication. Wherever your smartphone goes, so does the medication.
