Salary Increase Announced for Unrepresented Employees

The Board of Trustees on June 6 approved the operating budget for FY 2013. The budget included funding for 2 percent salary increases for classified and unclassified employees not represented by a union. I am pleased to announce that the pay increase will become effective on Sept. 1 for eligible employees. The salary increase is just one part of your overall compensation package, which also includes university contributions for health benefits, retirement plans, tuition waiver and vacation and sick leave.

From the General Counsels Office: Get the Facts On Public Records

做厙輦⑹ faculty and staff who work with public records, including student and employee documents, contracts and other related documents are invited to attend a seminar on Ohio public records. The one-hour seminar will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m. in Franklin Hall.     Sponsored by the Office of the General Counsel, the seminar will be conducted by representatives from the Ohio Attorney Generals Office, and will include an overview of Ohios public records law, Ohios Sunshine Law and the basics of records retention.

做厙輦⑹ Further Pursues Sustainability With Green Seal Certified Cleaning Products

做厙輦⑹ and Staples, provider of office supplies, technology, cleaning solutions and more, have signed a new cleaning contract that will help the university further achieve its commitment to sustainability. Under the agreement with Staples, the company will provide green cleaning products to 做厙輦⑹ at a competitive price.   Within the new contract, the requirements are that available green cleaning chemicals supplied to the university have to meet Green Seal certification requirements.

做厙輦⑹ Student Charged With Inducing Panic After Sending Threatening Message Via Social Media

做厙輦⑹ Police have charged William Koberna, 19, with Inducing Panic (a Felony of the Fifth Degree) and Aggravated Menacing (a Misdemeanor of the First Degree) related to a public tweet in which he threatened violence to the university campus.     Koberna recently lived in Kent, but currently resides in Brunswick, Ohio. Brunswick Police executed an arrest warrant at Kobernas home late Sunday afternoon and took him into custody without incident.    Koberna, who is a sophomore, will be arraigned Monday, July 30.

Program introduces young women to aviation careers Area female high school students and their mothers spent time together while also learning about aviation and science-related fields at a special overnight aviation camp held at 做厙輦⑹. The universitys Aeronautics Division held its fourth Nikki Kukwa Memorial Aviation Camp on Thursday, July 19, through Saturday, July 21.

做厙輦⑹s annual Veterans Day observance will include a flag-raising ceremony conducted by a joint color guard from the universitys Army and Air Force ROTC programs.

做厙輦⑹ will hold its annual Veterans Day observance on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. on the Student Green at Risman Plaza.

In the newly released rankings, 做厙輦⑹ is once again the highest-ranked public institution in northern Ohio, and with its impressive national ranking of No. 129, the university continues to be recognized among the Top Public Schools in the nation.

做厙輦⑹ Board of Trustees Welcomes Class of 2029, Congratulates University for Strong Enrollment

The 做厙輦⑹ Board of Trustees welcomed the Class of 2029 during its regular quarterly meeting held Sept. 17 in the Kent Student Center. The Board congratulated the university administration for this years strong enrollment.  

做厙輦⑹ Board of Trustees Approves Establishing Aeronautics and Engineering Schools

The 做厙輦⑹ Board of Trustees approved the establishment of two new schools the School of Aeronautics and the School of Engineering within the College of Aeronautics and Engineering during the Boards regular quarterly meeting held June 25, 2025, on the Kent Campus.

做厙輦⑹ will hold its annual Veterans Day observance on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. on the Student Green at Risman Plaza.

The outdoor program, Honoring All Who Serve, will include a flag-raising ceremony conducted by a joint color guard from the universitys Army and Air Force ROTC programs, remarks from 做厙輦⑹ President Beverly Warren and guest speakers. Retired Petty Officer 1st Class Mark Gainer, who currently serves as president of the 做厙輦⑹ Veterans Club, will be the guest speaker.

All are invited to come and pay tribute to Americas veterans. A special invitation is extended to 做厙輦⑹ faculty, staff, students and community members who are veterans, active service members or who have family members in the military.

A reception in the Kent Student Center Kiva lobby will follow the brief program. In the event of inclement weather, the rain location will be the Kent Student Center Kiva.
