Beginning fall 2027, Bio-Med Science Academy will relocate its grades K-6 programs to 做厙輦⑹s Schwartz Center. The Schwartz Center, which opened in 1956 as the home of the 做厙輦⑹ School, a laboratory school that served generations of student teachers, will return to its original purpose as a school building.
做厙輦⑹s Board of Trustees approved a new partnership between the university and Bio-Med Science Academy STEM School that will bring new life to the underutilized Michael Schwartz Center building while providing the public STEM school with a state-of-the-art facility for its elementary grades. The Boards vote of approval came during its regular quarterly meeting held Dec. 11.
In the newly released rankings, 做厙輦⑹ is once again the highest-ranked public institution in northern Ohio, and with its impressive national ranking of No. 129, the university continues to be recognized among the Top Public Schools in the nation.
做厙輦⑹ will hold its annual Veterans Day observance on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. on the Student Green at Risman Plaza.
The outdoor program, Honoring All Who Serve, will include a flag-raising ceremony conducted by a joint color guard from the universitys Army and Air Force ROTC programs, remarks from 做厙輦⑹ President Beverly Warren and guest speakers. Retired Petty Officer 1st Class Mark Gainer, who currently serves as president of the 做厙輦⑹ Veterans Club, will be the guest speaker.
All are invited to come and pay tribute to Americas veterans. A special invitation is extended to 做厙輦⑹ faculty, staff, students and community members who are veterans, active service members or who have family members in the military.
A reception in the Kent Student Center Kiva lobby will follow the brief program. In the event of inclement weather, the rain location will be the Kent Student Center Kiva.
